So lets talk lipstick. I have a major addiction for MAC lipsticks. My collection is not huge but it is extended and continues to grow rapidly. When I first discover MAC's Heroine lipstick, sadly it was discontinued and I did not want to fork out the extra money on E bay. I'm sure you all have encountered the ridiculously over priced limited addition products on E bay. When I heard that this lipstick was being brought back by MAC to be apart of the permanent line, I was so happy. I mean its not everyday that this happens. I know what your thinking, its only lipstick but I swear it was like the clouds had opened and the lipstick gods said to me, "You had better werk to get that lipstick." But of course, it was completely sold out on line and it took nearly forever for me to get my hands on it. When I did get my hands on it my life was complete.
Okay, nothing is perfect. Even though I wanted to believe in my mind that it was a original lipstick and that I had to have it, the fact was that I already owned Heroine just in other brands. Though the lasting power of other brands have nothing on MAC's quality. The fact is that I don't tend to wear lipsticks for a long period of time so it didn't matter much. The finish of Heroine is matte. The other brands of course were not matte. I only came in contact with a matte purple about three months back when Revlon released their Matte balm stains. Of course, I won't go completely into detail because that is a whole other review. Heroine is however everything that I thought it would be. It is long lasting, the matte finish is not to drying, and a little bit goes a long way. The color is vibrant and you can totally get away with this lipstick all year long. I do however have a few drugstore dupes for those of you who don't want to pay the $16.00 dollars for the MAC lipsticks. Some dupes are Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in "Brazen Berry" and Revlon's Matte Balm Stain in "Shameless". Thanks for reading. Stay positive and stay beat. xoxo -Dawn
